One twentysomething librarian and new mommy trying to break the stereotype that all librarians have sensible shoes, hair styles, and constantly shush people. It's not true you know. There really isn't anything sensible about me, and I like to make noise.

I graduated from SUNY Geneseo in 2001 with a Bachelors in English, and went straight away to get my Masters in Library Science at the University at Buffalo. I think that (no matter what anyone else says) hands on experience is worth a lot more to a public librarian than a masters degree. I guess my reference class was pretty important, but I could have used a few pointers in dealing with crazy parents or screaming kids! I love people and books and I'm happiest when people like the suggestions I make and the things I do for them. I love being a mother and I love where I live because there are four seasons and there are a lot of liberal minded people in Rochester.

I'm afraid that any time Jason's said anything that slightly sounds like he might be thinking about disagreeing with me about something these last two weeks, I keep saying things like, "Hello! I'm an uber-librarian." This usually makes him roll his eyes, but he also usually shuts up, which is brilliant!
Those Superman and Spiderman wiggles are quite clearly uber-librarian material, incidentally.
